Integrity and Morality are not Related to Birth or Wealth

I have since learned that integrity and morality have little to do with which side of the tracks one was born on.

My world and my sister’s world became one of constant anxiety. Except when Dad was out of the house . . . gone.

Knowing what I know now, I believe Dad was clinically depressed and unsure of himself.

My mother, Elsie, was soft-spoken, delicate, like to laugh, and obeyed authority—first, her mother, then my father.
